Hi Mick,
First of all I would just like to say I have both of your books and they have been a wealth of information to me, I’m 20 now and have been training since I was 15. I have made incredible gains naturally by keeping a good diet and keeping of the gargle (and that’s hard in Ireland) most people don’t believe me when I say I don’t take steroids.Anyway my question is what type of steroids and what dosages were the famous bodybuilders of the 70’s taking, particularly Arnold. I much prefer the physiques of that era because they had all that mass yet tapered waists that should have belonged in a concentration camp. Anyway I know your the man to talk to and any info would be of great value to me

Hi Simon,
Thanks for your comments which are appreciated mate. The 70′s? Ahhh, school, girls, boozing – ah bliss in itself. As for the champs then? Well they were on the simple basics, such as dianabol, anavar, test cypionate and deca. That was it as there was not much else around to be honest – well not much that had not been tested or “guinea pigged” by bodybuilders. I suppose that went for Arnold too IF he took the gear! I say that because he MAY have been natural – well he could have been!
As for the dosages, I am not sure but I do know that the dosages were not far off the ones that I have suggested I have been told by a ‘reliable’ source. I know that they did make more use of the supplements that went with the gear mind you, and so they should have too! So the tip of the day is, Basics Rule! Stick with that during your training and gear intake and you will not go far wrong. Hope that this has helped.
PS – Me old mate David Gentle is the TOP expert of that year. I will have a chat with him and see if he can shed anymore light for ya mate!
