I am 55years old. Like one day for each body part. This doesn’t seem like enough exercise for anyone body part. I am used to doing much more work. Can I do more sets, etc. I think that is what you said but I think more is needed of different kinds of things?

hi mate just tried listening to your training system, found it bit hard going, but still good info, thanks.

Mick Hart September 26, 2006 at 10:08 am

Ned you nob, clearly you have no idea of training basics nor indeed of commercial gym training have you. You say people should not train at home – why not? Some of the best physiques around today have started training from home – now we are not thinking of your unsuccesful attempts at training with your bullworker in your front room while your missus (or mister) looks on with pride now are we Ned?
Why would anyone want to watch telly in the gym you twat. Look, why not be a big brave mister and show us all just how big and clever you really are. Now either showmus all how good you are or stand behind your hideaway you sad bastard. Here’s an idea, why not come down to MY gym and train with me, just for an afternoon! You might enjoy it AND I can show you how to train for real! You wouldn’t enjoy it, not really. ;-)

Mick Hart September 26, 2006 at 10:12 am

Kenneth, trust me it is not as easy as it sounds. By adding a set each exercise believe me you would burn out pretty soon so rather than rush, take your time.

Ringo. Sorry mate I knew that it was going to be a little hard to follow but I was just adding at a request from someone. I will indeed try to clarify it a little better next time.

Hmnn, heres an idea. Maybe Ned the Nob could come on over and explain as obviously he can, but me thinks he will stay hidden ;-) the twat!

Ned if you dont like them fuck off then. There are more than enough people out here who have more than benefited from Micks experience. Shut the door behind you.

I have followed the 3-day a week system.

It is NOT for the faint hearted. I personally find it hard to go beyond 8 weeks on it.

You’ll be looking forward to the ‘light’ weeks ;-)

Andy

You had me going then – right up until you said “weight lifting belt”.

Proper form is what you need when squatting – not a belt.

Pedro

Reply

Andy Sword September 28, 2006 at 12:55 pm

Pedro, I’ve heard that point about core-stability-versus-belt before, but I’m not convinced buddy.

Proper form is of course vitally important as with any exercise, but why not use a belt too?

I reckon anyone who squats heavy without a belt is taking unnecessary risks, which is nuts when it comes to the back.

People also say that belts make your back lazy. I disagree. Laziness makes you lazy!

If guys want to be macho and squat beltless, then they’ve only themselves to blame when something goes wrong and they wind up with back pain for the rest of their lives.

not bad ned, but I guarantee you could not keep up with me in my training. Want to try? You would be welcome you know.

Aw Mick!

Why delete my novice workout, when you asked me to post one in the first place?

Taking up too much space, was it?

Reply

Mick September 28, 2006 at 9:55 pm

Not really Andy, I deleted it because of your comment on not using a training belt AND the fact that I saw your pics posing and thought that was a danger to the public :D I mean, if you are going to cut and paste something have the deceny to be clever enough.

Safety first eh Andy. Now go and sort those MEGA dosage zits out! :D

I have used 3 day routine on run up to competition, i have found it hard but well worth it. I even spoke to mick and got it adapted to bring up a lagging body part. The biggest mistake is not giving it time to work.

Mick,

I have to say when I listened to the 3 day system I was a little sceptical so I tried it. All I can say is wow.

My strength is up and I have put on 6lbs and stayed quite lean…I still do 20 mins cardio after a session. I am totally natural and have just started taking a Whey protein and am hoping for more of the same.

Seriously anyone out there try this routine..dont go too heavy and you will grow.

Thanks for your help Mick you are a star

Kevin. Mail me your chest workout and I will gladly take a look mate.

As I’ve said before I love to read about Mick’s training systems
and routines. There is so much rubbish written about training,
it is good to read something from someone who really knows
what its all about.

Lets hear more about how you think we should be training to
get the best possible gains….with or without gear.

Mick you are the best.

I have started doing what you explained in the three day training exercise and I must say I’m very impressed.
I went through the whole set but by the second week I was really sore and I must say ”Thank You” I can feel the reps are doing it’s work.
So keep up the good work and lets go out and do some serious workout.

Cheers.

I logged onto this blog to see some information on the 3 day routine, but I see nothing but comments on it.

Mick, would you be kind enough to post the URL to the training information so I can check out what it is all about.

I am always up for new information, and up to now, it seems you’ve always got good new ideas on different and effective training methods.

My best,

I know this system works, Did the full monty some 30 plus years ago.
I was going through some pic’s and saw myself at that time of training.
( damn looked good to)
So for the guys / girls out there who have the balls ( sorry girls) to try it .
I would recomend what Mick is telling you!!

Hey Mick,
thanks once again i am back to my original size , and strength, UR third book was awesome , the 3 day system really works, sometimes we forget the basics and start up on new fangled things which hinder the growth more than help.
MORE POWER TO U .

Hey Mick, I was curious to know if you still do gear yourself especially after your heart attack! I had a heart attack on my 32 birthday years ago and I am interested in purchasing your books and training with gear.

Dear Mick,
You tell it as it is, no stones left unturned. I admire that you are not just pro steroids, but guide newbies to maximize their own potential prior to gearing up. That is sound advise. I witnessed personally teenagers take loads of gear and grow like trees, or might i say a water bed, no muscle maturity whatsoever. Worst of all, once they stop, they become saggy like fat people who lost weight extremely quickly and the skin did not catch up shrinking. I had bought all 3 of your Layman’s guides years ago and the info stands correct till today. Power to you, God bless

Great stuff as ausual Mick.

Yeah I tried the 3 day split after christmas and it was the most productive of all the exercises and splits I tried. As someone else said here,by the end of the third day I was looking foward to the following light week and vice versa.

But heres a quistion, how long do you stay with this system,8weeks 12,24,52,? Stay doing this permenantly?I finished after 3 moths and went back to a 4 day split.Couldnt possibly follow Chris’s system in The Chris report second workout. But I’m not training for comps so…..

Hi guys,
I trained from 18 to mid 30s natural for 5 yrs then on Dbol and Sustanon had a good experience with it.
I actually bought one of your mick hart training systems back in the late 80s.
I am now 44 and not trained now for around 8yrs and feel like sh*t!.
I have developed a heart prob over the last few yrs and really need advice about training and whats safe.
Hospital advised no weights….but i dont see why it would matter..
Tried asking my doc about restarting with the weights but he was no use at all as and as soon as i mentioned steriods he came out with all the usual Bs..Bla Bla
Basically i have irregular heartbeats and am feeling really out of shape and want to get back to something like my old self ,natural first then some gear..
Whats your opinion Mick? weights and gear a prob for a guy my age with irregular beats? got to do something to get fitter.
Any advice much appreciated
Garry
